New Residents

If you are a new resident to Texas, and your title is already in your name, you have two options. You may surrender your title and get a Texas title and registration, or you can keep your title and apply for registration only. To apply for either, you must be a resident of Taylor County, or active duty military and a former resident of Taylor County.

To apply for a Texas title and registration, we will need:



*Your title
*A Title Application
*Your proof of insurance
*Proof of Texas Safety Inspection(VI-30)

To apply for Texas registration only, we will need:



*Your last registration or a copy of your title showing it is in your name
*A Title Application
*A Registration Purposes Only form
*Your proof of insurance
*Proof of Texas Safety Inspection(VI-30)

If you are active duty military located in another state, you may submit a Vehicle Self Certification Form in lieu of the VI-30. This also applies for full-time students located out of state.

If you are coming into the state and have purchased a vehicle overseas, you will need:



*The title, certificate of origin, or military registration.
*A Title Application
*Your Customs paperwork(not needed if you have a certificate of origin that specifies that the vehicle was manufactured in the United States.
*Your orders & LES
*Proof of insurance
